Tomorrow is Swimming Gala. Today I can't sleep. Really. Too excited. I never failed to sleep, no matter it is Robotics, Mighty Minds or exams waiting for me the next day. But not this time.
Tomorrow I will swim 150 metres in total, timed. It will be the best chance to wash my reputation of a bookworm.
For today, I kept looking at my watch and did a countdown: 19 hours to the start, 18 hours to the start...
Now I count another 11 hours. Argh! When will today end and tomorrow begin?

Precious tranquility
It was the first time I witnessed such a quiet recess.
The canteen was always a busy place, bustling with activity during recess. The boys' side was always flooded with shouts and laughter. Walk into the girls' side and you can hear chatters and gossips. The food counters were never idle, having to handle the appetite of at least 500 people in the short half hour. At the same time, the canteen leads to many corners of the little world we explore everyday, thus making it the centre of transport. Sometimes, someone would step onto the Speaker's Corner stage to give a presentation. This leads to loud cheers and jeers. Conclusion:nobody can silence the canteen.
Except one person. Mr Muru with his magic wand. On the second day of PMR, he himself stood in the canteen. It was awfully quiet. Really quiet. No noise. Just the sound of the wind and leaves rustling. Everyone just ate quickly and ran back to class. There were hardly any leftover plates on the table. Literally, I don't have to do anything. For that time, the canteen was a perfect place to take a nap.
Amidst the tranquility, we can see more details. In the peacefulness, you stroll, and discover a new bird's nest. You stand, and find out that a shoot in the past had grown taller than yourself. You breathe, and notice that your breath is what you can hear. You look around, and see everything. All in that quiet, little world.
That, was precious tranquility. A day off for me.
